If you have ever had difficulty cutting long tapers on your table saw, this simple to use taper jig will help make that process easy and it will help you do it accurately! Featuring the Blade Safe and Short Reach Adjustable Hold Down clamps, this jig is the perfect way to cut chair legs, table legs, furniture angles and a whole lot more! The jig comes with a ¾” x 3/8 lightweight aluminum miter bar that features two steel removable slot discs. There is a disc on either end to prevent any incidental lift out of the slot. For those saws that don’t have a “T- Slot”, the discs may be removed. The miter bar also features spring loaded steel plungers to ensure a snug fit into ¾” x 3/8” miter slots. Simply use the provided hex key wrench to adjust the plungers to achieve the ideal fit. The Taper Jig also features an easy to use indexing system that helps make quick work of taper cuts. Each index mark equals 1 degree of taper. You may of course simply mark your wood, align your marks with the edge of the taper jig, clamp down your wood using the Blade Safe Hold Down Clamps and make the cut if so desired. The choice is yours. The Taper Jig comes with detailed, full color instructions for safe and accurate jig use. You can also use the Taper Jig as a straight line ripping jig to give your stock a straight, true edge. To do this, simply remove the miter bar, “zero out the jig” and use your table saw fence as your guide for the jig. Please take note that the jig has been designed to be use on table saws in which the left edge of the right side miter slot is 4” to 6-1/2” from the blade. We have included 3 Blade Safe and Short Reach Adjustable Hold Down clamps that come in super handy when clamping your stock to the jig. Each clamp can be adjusted inward or outward depending on how close or how far it needs to reach to hold down your stock. Unlike other taper jigs, our clamps are made from a composite material that will NOT damage your blade or cutters if accidentally cut into! This material also prevents accidental tripping of touch sensitive, safety table saw mechanisms.
